As part of the construction of the Torrey View site, Breakthrough Properties has demolished the median on El Camino Real to create a new intersection and two left-hand turn lanes into the facility. In its current stage, the lane has been built and will only be available for the San Diego Fire Department to access for emergency circumstances until construction is complete. The permanent condition of this lane will allow left turns into and out of central campus entrance. The map to the right shows the work area for this construction activity.
*Construction on these improvements began Monday, March 11, 2024 and the work is expected to be completed in Summer 2024.* In the permanent condition, the new traffic signal will be synchronized with the adjacent intersection at Carmel Mountain Road and El Camino Real to facilitate flow of traffic at both intersections, and the existing intersection controller is being upgraded to include audible notifications for safe, accessible crossing. Pedestrian crosswalks at the new intersection will facilitate foot traffic along the newly installed and widened parkways at the site perimeter.
What to Expect
Daytime work will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Breakthrough is actively working with the City and currently does not anticipate nighttime work but will notify the community if it is required. Construction crews will work to minimize noise to the greatest extent possible. Traffic control signage and/or support will be active onsite until the phase is complete.
Thank you for your continued patience throughout construction as we complete this work in our community.
*Note: construction schedules are subject to change.
